Holiday Dog Card

I guess this will be my last holiday card share for the year and it's the card I made for our veterinarian. We love her, and her clinic staff. I had also ordered them a Christmas gift back in November, which ended up shipping the day before Canada Post went on strike. So the package is sitting somewhere and hopefully it will turn up one day.

Gifts for our daughters were in the same package, so I'm not impressed. Also not impressed that I didn't get to mail my Christmas cards. The strike is 'over' (postponed until the Spring) so I could actually mail then now. But with the backlog of mail in the system already, and potentially grumpy workers that were forced back to work - I am not taking a chance with my hand made cards getting lost or not delivered until the middle to end of January.

Anyhow, since this card would be hand delivered, I ended up making a 6" square card and was able to use up two 6x6" panels that were in this older paper pad. The stamped images are by Your Next Stamp.

Santa Mail Pop Up

Welcome to Fun Fold Friday here on my blog! Today I'm sharing a Christmas card made using Karen Burniston's new Postage Pop Up die set and older papers from my stash.

I was tickled at how well the papers work with the theme, as I've had them for a couple of years. I was just flipping through the remaining papers in the 6x6" package and saw these ones in there. Serendipity 😊

Here is a close up of the postage part of the pop up. The mechanism is completely generic and can be used to pop up all kinds of things, but since the postage theme is so hot right now - I used the included decorator dies and her coordinating stamps to complete the card.

Our Canada Post strike is 'over' - after over 4 weeks of no mail service - but I have decided not to send out our Canadian Christmas cards. With the backlog of mail they have in the system already, and grumpy workers forced back to work ... I'm not taking the chance. Plus, I don't want people to receive their holiday cards towards the end of January. Instead I will send out some Happy New Year cards and will send out extra Valentine's. The cards I made for this year will be sent out next year

'Having Surgery?' Pop Up Card

It's Fun Fold Friday here on my blog and today I'm sharing my first play with Karen Burniston's Photo Fan Pop Up. We had a friend who had surgery so this is the card I made for him.

We were in Arizona at the time, & I had only brought a few craft supplies down with me so I was fairly limited in embellishments, sentiment stamps etc etc. However this fun (and years old) paper package seemed perfect and I was able to fussy cut feathers from one of the sheets to decorate the squares. I used markers to create the custom sentiments and he really liked his card.

Once again I wish I'd watched the assembly video before I got to work on it - but instead I followed the directions on the package. Karen B always has great tips in her videos - like adding a backing square to the two outer fan squares, and I wish I'd done that.

I was not expecting to like this die as much as I do - it's so fun!

Sheetload Birthday Cards with Stars

Since I'm still trying to build up my Nursing Home Donation Card stash, I pulled out an older Sheetload and even older patterned paper for these six cards. It's the February 2020 Sheetload and I have used it multiple times.

The sentiments were stamped on leftover strips of cardstock then I added a stitched star cut from black card stock. Six more cards done!

Supplies used:
Patterned paper - DooWop Diddly Wink. - the Paper Studio
Washi tape sentiments - Your Next Stamp
Star from Circle Charm Pop Up die set - Karen Burniston

Four Silhouette Birthday Cards

Welcome to Masculine Card Monday here on my blog!  I need to get a bunch of my nursing home donation cards done, so pulled out these sports themed panels and got these four cards  made. The panels are from the Big Book of Sports by Hunkydory, and I don't think it's available anymore. But there are a ton in the pad so I'm all set. 😊

They are a UK size so I trimmed them down to 4x 5.25" then added them to a white A2 card base. The stamped sentiment was added with foam tape for a little dimension. I have a plastic envelope filled with these sentiments, so I can just go through and pull some out when I'm ready to complete a card.

The insides are very simple ... all done the same.

Supplies used:
Little Book of Sports -  Hunky Dory
Happy Birthday sentiments etc - from my stash
Inside - Birthday Blowout, Poppy Stamps
