Shark Valentine Card Duo

Hello my crafty friends!  These are the Valentine cards I sent off for two of our grandson's. Ilai LOVES sharks, has a whole wall in his bedroom devoted to them. Zachary also likes them and I think the boys will appreciate these grinning shark faces.

There were a LOT of delays in me getting this shark die set (linked below) in my hot little hands ... all related to COVID shipping/travel delays etc. A friend hung onto it for me for well over a year, so as soon as I was able to play with it I did - and these are the first cards I've made with the dies. 😊

The cards are 4-1/4" square, so they fit in a standard A2 envelope. I used scraps from my stash for the sharks themselves, which is always fun, and the patterned paper is from Queen & Company. I liked that there are blue hearts in the paper.

Here is a peek at the inside - both cards are the same inside since they are going to different houses. In different towns, even! The sentiments are from Lawn Fawn and Waffle Flower.

Flowers & Hearts Slimline Card

Hello my crafty friends! I had fun creating this Slimline card and used a heart background die from Whimsy Stamps. This is a die that I've had for ALMOST 6 months, so I'm still counting it as new. I have a thing for heart dies, ha ha - and use them for lots of other occasions besides Valentine's Day. After cutting the heart background from red card stock, I backed it with a cut-to-size transparency. This is something I do a lot as I love the shine it gives behind the openings. You can see that better in the photo below.

The cute floral wreath is from a package of embellishments from Doodlebug, and I decided to make a shaker card with it. After backing the opening with acetate, I fussy cut pink card stock large enough to cover the opening with some extra room, added foam tape to the back side of the floral wreath/acetate piece then added some flat sequins from Kat Scrappiness. Then I added the pink piece over the foam tape to hold everything in place and my shaker element was ready to add to my card front.

Finally, I added the Love dies from Karen Burniston's new Sending Love set. The flower centres got some extra sparkle with the Pops of Color from Scrapbook .com. Those were a free with purchase in December and I'm really liking them!

Here is a peek at the inside. I didn't add a sentiment, so I can use it for Valentine's Day or an Anniversary, or add a friendship verse and send it for Happy Mail in February! The hearts I added inside are from the fallaway pieces from the Slimline Heart background die. Of course I saved them all to use on other projects, and I think I might have added a couple of the smaller ones into the shaker too.

Floral Garden Shutter Card

Hello my crafty friends:  It's Fun Fold Friday here on my blog, and  I'm sharing a sweet little Shutter card using a not-so-new die set by Lawn Fawn. I go over all the details on YouTube:

Once again I used that older patterned paper package from Carta Bella - this has been in my stash for several years and I'm trying to USE it rather than just sit and hoard admire it. 😊 There are lots of little bits and leftover pieces in the package now, so I used a couple of them to decorate the belly band. And of course I love the stitched edges on the LF dies.

The die set even comes with a die that cuts a perfectly sized belly band - love that! I kept this one fairly simple, as it was the first time I used the dies. Once I was finished though, I had SO many ideas and I have left the set out on my stamping table to use again soon.

I am not usually a fan of smaller cards - this one measures 3.5 x 5" - but when it is open it's a full 5 x 7"! Once I realized that, I was even happier I had invested in the set. Before I purchased it, I had seen the Lawn Fawn assembly video and realized that I would use the set more if I also got the Add On set, which eliminates the need to cut the cover twice then cut the second one down for the inner centre panel. Then I would also need to line up the included stitched circle die for the window. I also really like those stitched lines that the Add On centre front panel came with.

While these dies were a complete impulse buy - I know I'll get a lot of use out of them. I had made four cards with the dies from Taylored Expressions (and will make more for sure), this one seems so quick and easy to put together I'm glad I added the dies to my collection.

Mail Themed Pop Up Card

Hello my crafty friends!  Today I'm sharing another card that uses some of Karen Burniston's New Release  and I have a walkthrough of my card on YouTube:

The new mailbox pop up also works great as an embellishment, which is how I used it on the card front. The mail themed embellishments (and all the patterned paper) are by Doodlebug and I have everything that is available linked below for you.

I also added scalloped borders top and bottom and the new Hearts Crosshatch for a signing block.

Your Next Stamp New Release - A Card Trio

Hello my crafty friends!  I'm on the Your Next Stamp blog today with this trio of cards featuring the sweet New Release, and I have a walkthrough of all my cards on YouTube:

First up is a Mini Slimline card with an ink blended background. I inked the panel after die cutting it with the Mini Slimline Sprinkles die, as that way the edges of all of those confetti pieces would pick up a little more of the ink.

I backed the opening with a piece of transparency for some shine, and added the stamped and coloured image in behind that. After stamping the hearts and adding some shimmer with Wink of Stella I added this whole panel to the card base.

Here is a peek at the inside, with more images from the new Sprinkled With Love set.

Card #2 is a 4 x 6" card, and features the new Cute Scalloped Rectangle die set and Hammie I Heart You stamp & dies. I also used the new Whimsy Hearts stencil on the white panel. The Cute Scalloped Rectangle die set comes with an optional door, which is also fun but I didn't use it on this card.

The balloon got some Glossy Accents and finally I added one of the Stitched Puffy Clouds.

I haven't added a sentiment inside yet, as this could be used for Happy Mail in February as well as a Valentines Day card so I will wait until I go to send the card.

The third card is also a Mini Slimline and I used up some patterned paper scraps with the Scrapworks Large Sunburst die set. This is one I've had for a long time and I use it a LOT. It is out of stock right now, but it will be back in the YNS shop soon.

Then I used the new Sloffee stamp set - how cute is this Sloth?

Here is a peek at the inside - as I said in the video, that plaid heart was leftover from an upcoming challenge card where I die cut a heart shaped window into the card front.

Racoon Mini Slimline Valentine

Hello my crafty friends! Today I'm sharing a Mini Slimline Valentine that will be going to one or our Grandkids.  I used a mix of old and new - the newest items would be the heart dies. They come from Karen Burniston's upcoming new release, the Heart Crosshatch die set.  There are also a couple of those mirrored heart sequins from Kat Scrappiness which catch the light just like a tiny mirror and add a little  'ooooooooh' to your card.

The little raccoon isn't exactly new but it does squeak under my benchmark of 'new being anything purchased in the past 6 months'. MFT Stamps had a number of these cute critter dies, but I wasn't sure of the size or how much I would use them. Now that I have played with the raccoon I see the appeal and they are retired! Sheesh. This little guy has a glossy nose, white gel pen highlights and Wink of Stella sparkle.

Inside is Karen Burniston's Happy Valentine's Day. Love that it cuts as a single piece as that makes it so much easier to adhere to your card.

I die cut the words from a red mirrored card stock for a little something extra and I adore how it looks!

Blooming Spring Card

Hello my crafty friends!  It's time for another Fun Friday Challenge at Your Next Stamp and this theme is 'SEASONS: Choose one of the four seasons to inspire your creation.' I chose SPRING and this is the card I came up with:

I used the Sunburst Panel die for the background, cutting it from a floral patterned paper & backing it with light teal card stock. I saved all of those fallaway floral pieces though! Cutting the Sunburst Panel again from light pink card stock, I was able to add those floral pieces into the light pink sunburst panel and created a second panel to use on another card another day! (I backed that second panel with lightweight white cardstock so those floral pieces had something to stick to.)

I left the inside blank, as I haven't decided on what Spring or Easter sentiment to add there yet.

One more look ...

Mailbox Pop Up Mini Slimline Card

Hello my crafty friends!  I'm back today with another card made with the upcoming release by Karen Burniston. For this card I have a walkthrough of my card on YouTube

I love that this release works so well in a 3.5" card width - my favourite width of both Mini and Slimline cards so I made a Mini Slimline card today. The front has the previously released Hello (with shadow) but check out those cute mini envelopes! They are a little hint of what is inside ...

... the new Mailbox Pop up!!

The little flag raises and lowers, and the lid opens and closes as the card opens and closes. It comes with lots of little hearts and those cute stitched mini envelopes in the set. I paired it with a previously released Thinking Of You, also by Karen Burniston.

The Design Team will be sharing sneak peeks this week, and celebrating with a Blog Hop on Monday January 24th when the New Release will start shipping!

These are the new dies I used today, the previously released ones are linked for you below.

'Monkey Love' Window Card

Hello my crafty friends!  Today's card is not a Pop Up, but it does use some dies from Karen Burniston's new release. I have to apologize for the terrible lighting in the photos - it had been cloudy and I couldn't wait for a sunny day. I sent the card to Karen Burniston as when she teaches classes the students love to see cards in real life, so I wasn't able to take better photos when the sun peeked out.

The card started with a heavyweight card base, then I used the Shadow from the new Sending Love to die cut a window from the card front. The new Monkey & Lion set is the latest addition to the KB animals and I just HAD to start with a pink monkey. I think he turned out adorable!

Inside I added another monkey, hearts from the new Hearts Crosshatch, the new Sending Love word die & shadow, and also Word Set 9 Love. All the little hearts were leftovers from a different card that used the new Mailbox Pop Up!

Yep - this is one of those cards that just looks better in real life.

The Design Team will be sharing sneak peeks this week, and celebrating with a Blog Hop on Monday January 24th when the New Release will start shipping!
