Happy Gnomies Slimline Card

Hello crafty friends ...

My Slimline card today uses a couple of the NEW RELEASE items from Your Next Stamp, which will be available at 11am EST on August 18th. Just a few more days! This is day two of our previews, and Your Next Stamp will be giving away one of each stamp set being previewed! Be sure to leave a comment on my blog, the Your Next Stamp Blog and Your Next Stamp Instagram to increase your chances to win! Check out the YNS Blog to see the sets being previewed each day.

Since I enjoy making Slimline cards, I am excited about the new Slim Circle Panel Die, and I have a lot of ideas for it. For this card, I die cut it from a yellow patterned paper and then backed the die cut with a transparency. I love the shine this gives a card, and it's a technique I do quite often. Then I added a same sized panel of darker patterned paper behind the transparency to show through the circle openings. It's a fun look!

The Happy Gnomies is one of the new stamp sets being previewed today - these Gnomes are so darned cute. There are also coordinating dies available, and I used one to die cut my Gnome then coloured it with Copic markers.

I created the focal point by inking a hand made cloud mask with blending brushes to create the sunset sky and added a strip of patterned paper to create the ground. That panel was adhered behind a the Scalloped Rectangle Frame (also by YNS) that was die cut out of patterned paper. I've had this patterned paper for many years and I enjoyed using it for several of my New Release cards this month.

For the sentiment, I stamped the Sending Smiles that comes in the Happy Gnomies set onto a Stitched Fishtail Banner. After knotting seam binding around the left end I popped it up with foam tape.

Gum Drops are always a good idea, ha ha - so I added sparkly yellow ones on the card front ... one in the centre of the potted flower and three others placed inside the cutaway circles.

Inside the card I added a patterned paper mat, then stamped a greeting from the Happy Gnomies set and added one more stamped, die cut and coloured Gnome.

I added a couple of scraps of the same patterned on the envelope front and my card was done and ready to send to a friend for Happy Mail.
