Hot Chocolate Kitty Slimline Card

I was SO excited that YNS came out with a Slimline die - if you follow my blog you know how much I'm enjoying this format! I used the new Long Striped Panel Die for my card today, cutting it from rainbow striped paper and mounting it to the kraft card base with foam tape.

The focal element uses more of the new release -- the new Cool Tag 6 was cut from both kraft and some puffy cloud patterned paper. The new Painted Shapes has some fun borders, and I used the rectangle shape border across the top and bottom of the kraft tag, adding highlights with a white gel pen. I offset the cloud tag behind the kraft tag and adhere them to the striped panel.

I don't usually plan out my cards, but create as I go ... so when I was ready to add the sentiment, I liked it below the cat image so you can't see the stamped border on the kraft tag. Ha!  The new Purrr-fect Together is a fun set and that sentiment just makes me grin.  I used YNS's Black Olive ink for the stamping, then coloured the 'cat & hot chocolate' image with coloured pencils, Gamsol and a blending stump. I haven't done that in a long time and it was fun to use my pencils again.

Finally, a few sparkly Gum Drops and my card front was done!

Inside I added a white stamped panel, leaving lots of room to write a message or even stamp a greeting when I go to send the card! The border from Painted Shapes looks cool when stamped in various colours and for these ones I staggered the placement of the border on each row.
