Hello crafty friends ...
Today I'm sharing a card that I made in early February. It was sent to Hochanda and was going to be one of the card samples when Karen B and Tanya were on the show, so I couldn't share it earlier. However with the Corona Virus affecting supply and distribution world wide, and the sheer popularity of the Surprise Ball Pop Up, they decided not to show that particular die on TV until they know when the stock will be replenished. No point in getting people all excited about a product they can't purchase!
More changes came about when KB and T decided not to risk their health by flying overseas with this virus, not to mention the risk of being quarantined in another country! We are a flexible group though, and the Hochanda Team did the presentation for them. The episode was a few days ago, and you can watch a replay on YouTube HERE:
Remember you can always see my interactive card videos on my YouTube Channel HERE.
Teammate Sandy Diller came up with the idea to put the Surprise Ball Pop Up inside of a pocket, so that is what I did here, keeping the outside simple with a layered circle, stitched heart and a 'thinking of you' die cut. And bling of course!
I had the idea to make a chick inside of an egg, so used a lovely white pearl card stock for the egg shell.
The wings were a simple circle cut in half - I wanted to keep the supplies somewhat minimal so people watching the show would know they could replicate the card. The Chick's beak uses the same heart as on the front of the pocket, folded and adhered with a bit of foam tape. I didn't have any feathers so did a quick run to the craft store. I think they add so much character!
If this was not a show sample, I would have added a lot more detail ... grass, Happy Spring, Happy Easter, an Easter Chick on front etc etc. But we had a set list of dies we could use and it was fun to show how to use those to come up with something unexpected and fun.
