Sparkling snowman Flip-It Card

Good morning friends

Happy December First! For our family, December First always marks the beginning of the Christmas Season. The grandkids get a gift - holiday PJ's and a Christmas or Hanukkah book. My kids get a gift (usually the same thing, but this year I'm giving the ladies an Advent Calendar by David's Tea).

December is also when I try to keep all my posts Christmas related  I really enjoy making Christmas cards, which is a good thing because I need over a hundred every year. Some of those go to my Mom to send out as she loves to send her friends cards that I've made.

Today is also Flip-It Friday on my blog so I made a festive, sparkling stacked snowman Flip-It card to share today.

Glitter can be iffy to photograph - and this snowman is no exception. I cut it from Stampin' Up's Glimmer paper, which is just gorgeous. I know I say that every time it, but it really is. I make sure to keep some on hand all the time, and if I am getting low then it's worth placing an order just to re-stock. The glitter doesn't fall off and it has so much SHINE!

For the card base I used Stephanie Barnard's Circle Flip-It Framelet die set and patterned paper from my stash. That red snowflake was sitting on my stamping table and after I added it I decided I LOVED red snowflakes. Wish I'd discovered that earlier in my holiday card making this year but you will be seeing a lot of red snowflakes next year.

The snowman is from Karen Burniston's Snowman Twist Circle Pop-Up. A versatile die set, as you can use them together as designed, but without the snowman it becomes a generic Twist Pop-Up that you can embellish with all kinds of things. The snowman works very well on it's own, or as shown here - on other animated cards.

The patterned paper also has embossed and shiny bits in it - I love shimmer and shine for the holidays. Below is the card opened. We will sign our names on the little stitched oval.

However you celebrate the season - and even if you don't - I'd like to wish you all a Happy December First!
